A Year of Change

As we approach our one year anniversary in our new location I find myself being very thankful. It has certainly been a year of personal growth and many changes. There have been ups and down and a different learning curve but I am so happy we made the move. We were facing resistance to change so moving was the best thing we did.

Many of you know we had been commuting over an hour and twenty each way for a few years. That was challenging in many ways. Still, the decision was a hard one because it meant not only the physical challenge of moving but also the logistics of informing people and vendors, hiring and training new staff and so on.

I was forced to put my big girls pants on and reinforce skills that my wonderful mentor Edie had taught me and I was also able to attend more SMS workshops further expanding my knowledge. I have done that in spades and can’t thank enough,  those that have offered guidance and have been generous in sharing their knowledge and opinions.

Change can be a hard thing but sometimes, when you remove yourself from an environment that doesn’t encourage change, it is easier to create it. With the economy changing as it has, and the fact that there are so many more saddle fitters available, this was necessary. Expanding in some areas and streamlining others has been interesting and enlightening. We have also found that although our business in mostly Internet, our new location has encouraged a lot more walk-in traffic. We love meeting new people.

I would personally really like to thank our loyal existing customers that continue to offer positive reinforcement, (thanks for the chocolates, wine and more), your business and all of our new customers.

There is nothing more rewarding than having a customer tell us how changed their horse is by a good fitting saddle and their easy experience in dealing with us. I know we aren’t perfect but we do make every effort to do the best job we can and we appreciate your continued support.

From all of us at Trumbull Mountain, Thank-you and have a very Happy Thanksgiving.
